One River Wisdom School – Perennial Wisdom for the Spiritually Independent retreat provides a unique opportunity to explore some of the sacred threads common to our spiritual traditions and those practices which make the Divine One present and manifest in our daily lives; and to explore the Perennial Wisdom at the mystic heart of the world religions.
How did Jamberoo Abbey and One River Wisdom School come together?
The online retreats, Hospitality, a Versatile Charism and Desert Wisdom for Daily Living offered by Sr Magdalen this year, framed within the Perennial Wisdom tradition, have found much resonance with and inspiration from the writings of Rabbi Rami Shapiro and the core tenets of the One River Foundation. So many of our retreat participants, who have found and expressed a desire for contemplative living, also recognise the mystic threads which weave through all the world’s religions, and lie in the heart of our own. In this desire and recognition we walk a common path.
Rabbi Rami responded to the interest of many contemplative Australians by offering to lead a specifically Australian online retreat at a time workable for us, and a conversation began to make this a reality. As a result Jamberoo Abbey is delighted to endorse this first Australian retreat from the One River Foundation.
