Product Description
This book proposes that one fruitful approach to the theology of Mary, historically the mother of Jesus, called in faith the Theotokos or God-bearer, is to envision her as a concrete woman of our history who walked with the Spirit. Keeping faith through the days of her own life she is now counted among the great “cloud of witnesses” that surrounds the church on earth with encouragement. This proposal entails picturing her historical world and pondering the theological glimpses of her life in scripture, so as to remember her today as our sister, herself a friend of God and prophet in the communion of saints.
